eduroam Wi-Fi (SSID = eduroam)

Education Roaming (eduroam) is an international wireless service, which uses IEEE 802.1X technology to provide free, easy, and flexible Wi-Fi access among education institutions around the world.

Joining this service assists HKUST staff and students when they visit eduroam member institutions, including most tertiary institutions in Hong Kong; and visitors from other eduroam member institutions when at HKUST. In either case, you only need your home institution account and password and don’t need to set up a guest account. Connections are secured by 802.1X authentication and data encryption.

HKUST users must have a valid ITSC Network Account and be visiting an eduroam member institution. Visitors must be equipped with a 802.11a, 802.11g, 802.11n or 802.11ac wireless device and must configure their device to support 802.1X authentication. Visit the eduroam Wi-Fi Service Configuration Guides for details.
