LoRaWAN Sensor Type

ITSC has worked with various departments to deploy different types of IoT sensors:

  • Temperateure / Humidity Sensors - The sensor measures the temperature and humidity of an indoor area.
  • CO2 Sensors - In addition to detecting temperature and humidity of a room, these sensors also measure the CO2 concentration.

  • Water Leakage Sensor - It detects flooding and leakage inside a room in order to protect the valuable equipment.

  • Power Metering Sensor - This LoRa-capable sensor measures the power consumption.

  • RS485 to LoRaWAN Modem - This Data Forward Unit connects between the conventional RS485 meters (e.g. power meter) and the LoRaWAN to provide meter readings.

Apart from the above sensors, the HKUST LoRaWAN IoT Service supports any kinds of IoT devices which use the AS923 frequency plan.  Any HKUST members can submit the "Connect LoRaWAN Application Form" to apply for the connection.
